Writing:

Writing, not to be confused with "typing", is a process by which I create dazzling, meticulous copy according to your requirements, restrictions, needs and wishes.

What to expect:

At the beginning of the process I have a chat with you in order to gain an understanding of your project, objectives and style requirements. I then fuse what you've told me with my professional experience to write in a tone that best meets your needs and addresses your target audience.

Proof-reading:

Proof-reading is the final correction of a piece of work. You've got it written, you're ready to publish it, but before you open your wallet and wait for the money to roll in, I ensure that you've crossed your t's, dotted your i's and don't have any wayward punctuation marks floating around.

What to expect:

When we start I have a chat to you about your project to better acquaint myself with the length, topic area and to work out a realistic timeline. When dealing with longer works, some people prefer to receive corrections chapter-by-chapter, while others ask for the entirety to be completed as a whole. Based on what you select, I put my nerdiness into action.

Editing:

While many people assume that editing is synonymous with proof-reading, it's actually a much more involved process. Aside from correcting syntax, grammar, spelling and punctuation errors, as editor I also have to ensure that your piece of writing is stylistically coherent and that everything makes sense.

What to expect:

Editing is a very broad term and can signify anything from minute changes to a complete overhaul. I begin by asking a lot of questions about your piece of work - the length, genre, intended audience, crucial plot points, desired degree of involvement and so forth - and come up with a timeline.

For longer works I also come up with a communication and editing system that works for you.
